Joe Climbs the Great Wall of China

My exceptional friend Joe, who is a world traveler, is on the trek to the walk the Great Wall of China. Go Joe, Go!

Whiskey Creek

Sarah and I are cooling it on the dock of Whiskey Creek after a hard day on the beach.

Sitting on the Dock of the Bay

Watching the tide roll away.........

Oyster Man

Brock Knight grew up shrimpin', oystering and flounder gigging for a living here on Whiskey Creek which flows into the Intercoastal. He is holding the nectar of the sea in his hands. What a life.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fuh-un......

One of my great BFF's, Sarah Wagner and I on my favorite beach in North Carolina - Wrightsville Beach.

Doc and I at Hungry Mother State Park

Doc Lawrence is a man for all seasons. This seasoned journalist, radio personality, writer, wine expert, among many other attributes is one of a kind. He has interviewed legends such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Julia Child, Waylon Jennings and other icons. He is a jewel among men, people and the written word. So glad I know you, Doc.

Bluegrass at The Rex

This group played some mighty fine bluegrass in Galax, Virginia. Foot stomping and hand clapping good. Stevie Barr is world renowned for his banjo playing and yeah, he's that good.

The Wild, Wild West of Virginia

No, it's not the Wild, Wild West but just Tommy L. Brown, owner of a nifty horse ranch and the owner of Blue Cat Outfitters in Virginia and little ole me in the hill country of Virgina. It "shore" was fun..........

Picking Berries in the Heat

Sweltering is not the word for this July 4th day on Buttermilk Creek Farm in Burlington, NC where my friend and I picked, ate and fought off bees for the sweet taste of berries popping in our mouths and luckily not on our clothes.

World Class Blackberry Picker

Jenny is enjoying beating me out on picking berries faster than I was. She did a good job on this July 4th holiday!
