Cheerwine Meets Krispy Kreme in July

Two iconic Carolina brands have combined their unique tastes to bring back the Krispy Kreme Cheerwine doughnut. Only in the Southeast will you find this tasty treat that fizzles when you bite into it, oozing the signature Cheerwine color reminiscent of the soft drink.

This is the second year for the iconic sugary treat dreamed up by marketing teams as a perfect marriage of the niche brands, albeit a brief one. The specialty doughnut was so well received last year that it was brought back again for the month of July, only. The doughnut is sold in Wal Mart, BI-LO's, Publix, Lowe's Foods and other food chains in several southeastern states, primarily North Carolina.

It's a good thing the doughnuts are for a limited time. The little circles of sugar pack about 400 calories each. Is that counting the chocolate glaze and sprinkles on top?
